Japanese Gyokuro
Taste: Rich & umami · Caffeine: High
Gyokuro is Japan's most prized green tea, shaded from direct sunlight for the final few weeks before harvest. That shading slows photosynthesis, concentrating both sweetness and a deep, savory umami character while softening bitterness — the result is an intensely flavorful, almost broth-like cup with notes of sweet seaweed, fresh grass, and a lingering natural sweetness.
The same shading process that builds gyokuro's flavor also raises its caffeine content — it's the most caffeinated tea in our lineup, offering a steady, focused lift.
Gyokuro is naturally rich in L-theanine, the amino acid associated with calm, clear-headed alertness, alongside the antioxidant catechins found throughout green tea.
